We are a husband and wife team of 27 years and have resided in Tennessee for the past 10 years.

We are a home-based business and cater to small business, home-based businesses & residential customers.  

Our saga begins in 1980.  Employed as a field office manager for Union Carbide Corporation brought many challenges, but none so challenging as the introduction of computers into the workplace.  Knowing of the changes on the horizon, Hersh didn't wait to be trained.  We went out, bought an IBM, Jr. home computer, and he sat and read the DOS manual!   His excitement for this new technology continued to grow.  His passion for computer science and technology  prevails to this day. 

Ruth has a background in secretarial science and was employed by Raytheon Corporation back in the early 1970's.

In 1971, she ventured into the field of nursing, and became a Registered Nurse in 1974.   Throughout the years,

she has been able to combine both fields.   Both professions provided her with the ability to manage, problem-solve, and provide excellent patient care/customer service.     

From 1998-2003, we offered small computer repair work for friends who were experiencing problems.

Referrals grew and so did we.   Abacus Computer Services officially began in 2003.
